Scientific purpose

The program links solar observation with measurements of the surrounding space environment. Research teams examine how instrument response and sampling affect the interpretation of variable activity. The objective is a comparable record for research and operational users.

Observing approach

Independent channels are compared with documented time references and calibration records. Interpretation and operational alerts remain distinct products, with limits stated for each.

Interpretation and limits

A solar observation alone does not establish the effect at a particular terrestrial site. Program records identify what was measured and which links depend on models or further observations.

Program record

Published methods and records use the Foundation’s common provenance and correction requirements. The responsible office coordinates scientific questions with the relevant research team.
